I’ve long been extolling the benefits of cherries but specifically Montmorency cherries. John Carey from Cherryactive has actively researched them for many years after using them while suffering from his own debilitating Gout. The company now make these excellent 100% concentrated-super juices – Montmorency cherry, blueberry and beetroot. Importantly there’s no added preservatives. Great tasting and a 30ml measure counts towards your Five-a-Day fruit and veg target. (though of course I’d say your target should be at least 15 portions !)
I’ve been a fan of Arnica for years and have been talking about it a lot recently as I was asked to be part of Homoeopathy Awareness Week – I was body painted and my photo was taken I had beautiful blue diamonds painted around my neck – they are raw materials apparently in homoeopathic remedies. In my quotes for the press releases I made it crystal (or diamond ) clear that I am and have been forever a huge fan of Arnica, a friend used it before and after a major operation and his surgeon was astonished at his recovery with minimal bruising. I’ve recently discovered Weledas brilliant Arnica products. Not surprisingly the natural healthcare experts at Weleda have learnt a thing or two from alpine plants since the company was first founded in Switzerland in 1921. There’s not much Weleda doesn’t know about Arnica.
‘Arnica Montana’ is an alpine plant which is much valued and not least as a natural sports remedy. After a demanding session at the gym or gruelling fitness class Weleda’s Arnica Massage Balm will soothe tired, aching muscles and ease minor sports injuries. Its an aromatic dark golden liquid contains therapeutic plant extracts and oils to comfort old aches and pains that flair up when put to the test.
A traditional herbal remedy it’s packed with effective active botanicals. Over 150 active compounds have been found in arnica alone. Traditionally used for rheumatic pain, muscular pain and stiffness, backache, fibrositis, bruising, cramp and sprains, this fine massage oil has remained Weleda’s all-time top selling medicine for the past nine decades.
It’s made with organic arnica flowers that grow wild at high altitude in the Carpathian mountains in Romania where the strong light aids the constant formation of very prolific blooms. The arnica is gathered sustainably by certified collection each June, in collaboration with the WWF and skilled ecologists to ensure careful harvest management. Weleda takes this responsibility very seriously. No fertilisers are used, to protect the nutrient balance in the soil for the very best quality arnica.
Theres also the new homeopathic Muscular Pain Relief Spray
The new Arnica Massage Oil (£9.95 100ml) is a soothing and warming non-medicinal body oil to ease weary limbs after a tiring day – ideal for anyone who enjoys a regular sports massage.
Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, these arnica products are all available from independent health stores and pharmacies or from the online store at www.weleda.co.uk
In the first of a new series of free teleseminar interviews, I speak with a GP, a pelvic floor rehabilitation expert and Barry Fowler the author of ‘The Kegel Legacy’ – a new book on this compelling topic with your chance to ask questions via phone or computer.
‘Banish the last great taboo!‘
Nobody talks about it. No one will admit to it and over 4 million women find it such an embarrassment that it won’t be discussed with friends, family or partners. Research shows that most women wait on average 7 years to even discuss it with their GP.
What is it ? Bladder weakness or USI – Urinary Stress Incontinence. Most women – whether new mums, menopausal or anything in between often suffer in silence.
It’s time for a change! Stress incontinence is NOT taboo. It’s extremely common and easily cured. It’s WCW (World Continence Week) and listening to this free teleseminar could change your life!
Many of us know that homes can be full of toxic chemicals and most of these are found in the cleaning products kept under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom. For years we have been convinced by emotive marketing that we have to create a sterile environment in our home for it to be safe & balanced for our children and families – an impossible and dangerous target.
I’m fast becoming ‘anti the antibacterials!’
Many of us have already switched from toxic products like bleach, which is so damaging to us and our environment, to using plant derived green cleaners instead. While these are initially better for us than using chemical products, they still approach cleaning from an antibacterial angle and are therefore still detrimental to our long term health. Why? Simply because they unbalance the microbial environment in your home. Antibacterials can’t discriminate, killing all the good, friendly, beneficial & essential bacteria too.
Antibacterials also take a long time to bio-degrade once in the environment. When you consider that the driving force behind materials bio-degrading is bacteria, products that contain antibacterials can only degrade by taking something out of the environment – a fact that makes claims such as ‘environmentally friendly’ tough to justify.
Libby chan is a probiotic cleaner full of friendly bacteria that turns this antimicrobial approach on its head. Libby chan floods your home and surfaces with friendly bacteria, destroying the bad bacteria and keeping them at bay far longer than any antibacterial can and truly rebalances your home’s microbial environment. It is beneficial to our water and waste systems and actually puts positive microbes back into the environment. It can even be used to rebalance septic tanks!
With consistent use libby chan’s friendly bacteria start to live in your home, cleaning and protecting. They create a balanced & safe environment for you and your family that cannot be obtained from using traditional antibacterial cleaners.
Libby’s initial cleaning power is provided by enzymes naturally produced during the fermentation process of 100 per cent edible ingredients. These enzymes breakdown oil, fat, grease, organic stains, dirt and are also fantastic odour eaters. As the raw ingredients are edible the product is completely safe to use around babies, children & pets. It can be used on all surfaces in the home from floors to fabrics. NO need for a lock on the door of the cleaning cupboard with toddlers around!
Libby chan is so much more than just a cleaner. It provides all 9 essential amino acids and can even be used to produce your own probiotic yogurt! Libby chan is truly magic living water.
Alongside ‘Jesus is coming – quick look busy’, I have a great fridge magnet that reads…‘I wanted to change the world but I couldn’t find a babysitter’.
It makes me smile but at the same time it reminds me that I sometimes make excuses to just ‘sabotage myself’ (albeit subconsciously) or because somewhere deep down I’m scared of moving on, scared of success or even scared of change. On a recent Power Vision call l asked a holistic professional why she hadn’t taken the steps that she had been thinking about for ages to move her business forward. (She had been putting off finishing her website and procrastinating on whether to write a book.) First of all she gave me all the usual objections – I’ve moved home, its been chaotic, I haven’t had the finances, my family have needed to come first. Then she thought hard and said, ‘Truthfully if I put those excuses aside I haven’t taken action because I’m fearful, I guess I’m scared of failing AND I’m scared of succeeding!’
We all feel like that at certain times, none of us like failure and it can also seem scary to reach your full potential, but as Marianne Williamson says, ‘its your DUTY to do the work you were born to do’. If you are authentic you owe it not only to yourself but to others to make the world a better place!
If you’d like some guidance along the way don’t make any more excuses. If it’s your time now then don’t miss out, the next Masterclass Series starts one week from now
– a huge amount of content and inspiration – and it will never be this price again!

Well, I’ve had a very busy day raving about these lovely little Equadorian Goldenberries across the country!
I was also busy nibbling on them whilst in the studio and chatting on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Sussex and Surrey and Murray Norton on BBC Radio Jersey (who made me promise to convince Steve Wright to try them!)
They are packed with so many nutrients, they really are a superfood!
Orange-toned Goldenberries, from the Physalis fruit have been cultivated in South America for centuries and revered for their health benefits and mouth-puckering sweet and sour flavour. The fruit, which is bright yellow and extremely sweet when ripe, can be found in the U.S. easily but is also available in markets from Venezuela to Chile. Thanks to Terrafertil they are now available in the UK
At last a truly healthy raw snack (they are dehydrated) with no sugar added) unlike cranberries which can sometimes have up to 60 per cent added sugar!
High in protein, phosphorous, vitamins A, C and Complex B, they provide a hefty dosage of antioxidants, ( 166 per cent more antioxidants than Cranberries) and in traditional folk medicine practices, Goldenberries are believed to help maintain ahealthy weight, ward off disease and improve organ function.
You can add them to dishes as you would other dried fruits, Along with a bunch of journalists I enjoyed a three course lunch where every course included Goldenberries – awesome! – ….but I’m also enjoying just eating them straight out of the bag!
They’re great value from Holland and Barrett stores and the organic ones plus the Goldenberry Juice can be found at Planetorganic.com
Wednesday 24th April sees me across the airwaves talking about my new best friend - nutritionally anyway. Terrafertil’s dried Goldenberries are South America’s best kept secret and have finally arrived on UK shores.
I’ve never been a fan of raisins (too sweet) or Goji Berries (too hard) but these are juicy and kind of ‘bittersweet’, high in vitamins, minerals and pectin.
Organically grown and processed in South America, all Terrafertil Goldenberries are cultivated on Fair trade farmland to ensure the best return for local farmers and their communities. The berries have been used for centuries as an antioxidant rich folk medicine, reputed for their value in sustaining nutritional sufficiency.
Being the little nuggets of nutritional gold that they are, Ecuadorian Goldenberries boast a staggering 166% more antioxidants than cranberries, contain double as much fibre as prunes or dates, retain more potassium than 4 bananas, hold more iron than Popeye’s favourite spinach and are a rich source of vitamin C, magnesium and phosphorus.
I’m also loving Terrafertil Goldenberry Juice, no added sugar or flavorings yet high in potassium so great for hydration and it tastes great.
Listen out for me on various radio stations across the UK giving you the lowdown on these little wonders.
When comes to skincare, cleansing is the most important part of the beauty routine. Using oil to cleanse is by far the most gentle and efficient way to cleanse, and contrary to what you may think is fantastic for oily or spot prone skin.
The castor oil within this cleanser by Skin Guru acts like a magnet to grime and dirt, drawing it out of skin. This is not to be confused with oil cleansers that contain mineral or synthetic oils. This is one hundred percent natural. The inhalation part of the cleansing routine is very important as it affects the olfactory system inducing calm and de-stressing both mind and skin. The ingredients in this product nourish and balance the skin as well as cleanse.
Use a small amount this and then clean it off with the Glow Cloth – made from derma grade micro fibre. Because of the minuscule fibres, the oil can penetrate deeper into the pores, sweeping out the grime and makeup. Regular use of both cleansing oil and Glow Cloth, will help eliminate both blackheads and breakouts. Checkout their testimonial page to see the amazing results of cleansing with SkinGuru! http://www.theskinguru.co.uk/
